About Vatayan Labs

Vatayan (वातायन) is Sanskrit for window. Vatayan Labs is a window into how India moves money — an independent research publication covering Indian banking, payments, mutual funds and capital markets, with selective deep dives into global names.

How we work

Every piece of research starts from primary sources: RBI releases, NPCI statistics, SEBI filings and AMFI flow data. We prioritise what the numbers say over what the narrative wants them to say. Charts and dashboards are built directly from the underlying releases, and each one cites its source.

Methodology

About me

Manu Vatayan Jha

This site — Vatayan Labs — is where I, Manu Vatayan Jha, turn primary-source data (RBI reports, company filings, sector research) into interactive dashboards and long-form analysis: credit cycles, banking sector deep-dives, equity valuation frameworks, and sector research most retail investors never see, built from the ground up.

Alongside it, Curious Investing Insights on Substack is where the same rigour becomes readable — data-first newsletters for people who want to think like a credit analyst and an equity investor at the same time, not just read headlines about both.

I'm building all of this in parallel with a full-time role, on weekends, because I think the intersection I sit at — bureau-level credit access plus institutional equity research framing — is a genuine edge, and one that's underused in how financial content gets made for Indian audiences.
